Write to hello@commalabs.co and a person will answer. Most questions are one of the ones below.

Where do the prayers come from

They are written for you, from the sentence you typed, by a language model. They are not verses and not hadith, and the app is built not to quote either or to cite a source. Nothing it writes is a religious ruling. If a prayer reads wrongly to you, send it to us and say why; that is how the wording gets better.

The prayer came out in English when I use another language

That is the offline writer. When the app cannot reach the internet, or the service is slow, it composes from a writer built into the app itself so that you always get something. That one is English only. Check your connection and try again for a prayer in your own language.

Changing the language

English, Turkish, Arabic, German, French, Urdu, Indonesian, Malay and Dutch. Pick one on the first screen, or change it later in the menu. Arabic and Urdu lay the whole app out right to left. Changing the language does not touch prayers you have already kept.

The weekly limit

The free version composes a limited number of prayers a week and the counter is at the top of the home screen. Prayers you write yourself do not count against it, and nothing in your notebook is ever locked. Full Access removes the limit.

Purchases

Do I have to sign in

No. Sign in with Apple is offered and nothing is held back if you skip it. Your notebook is on your phone either way, so signing in does not upload it and signing out does not remove it. If you do sign in, the app receives the identifier Apple issues and nothing else — not your name, not your email.

Reminders

One daily reminder, at a time you choose, from the menu. It is a local notification: it is scheduled by the app on your phone and no server sends it. Turning it off removes it.

My notebook

Everything you keep stays on your device. There is no account to close and no export to request from us, because we have no copy. The menu has a control that erases the notebook and every setting, and deleting the app removes all of it too. Both are permanent: there is no backup of ours to restore from.

If you are having a hard time

The app is not a crisis service and cannot contact anyone for you. If what you write suggests you may be in danger, it shows a way to reach help first. Please use it, and if you are in immediate danger call your local emergency number.

Still stuck? hello@commalabs.co. Tell us your iOS version, the language you are using, and what you were doing when it went wrong, and we will get back to you.
