Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Prayer Journal application ("App"), published in Turkish as Dua Defteri and made by Comma Labs Yazılım Anonim Şirketi ("Comma Labs," "we," "us," "our"). By downloading or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the App. They should be read alongside the Privacy Policy, which forms part of them.
1. What Prayer Journal Is
You write what is on your mind in your own words. The App composes one personal supplication (du'a) from it, shows you a single line about what you are carrying, and keeps the prayer in a notebook on your device. You can also write your own prayer and keep it there.
The App is a writing tool for personal prayer. It is not a religious authority and does not act as one.
2. The Prayers Are Composed, Not Revealed
This is the most important thing on this page. The prayers are written by a large language model, at your request, from what you typed. They are new text produced by software.
- They are not scripture, and must never be treated as such. The App does not quote or paraphrase the Qur'an or any hadith, does not cite a surah, an ayah or a source, and is instructed not to.
- They are not a religious ruling, a fatwa, or an answer to a question of Islamic law. For anything of that kind, ask a qualified scholar who knows your circumstances.
- They carry no guarantee about outcome. Nothing in the App promises that a prayer will be answered, that an illness will pass, or that a matter will resolve.
- Language models can be wrong. They can produce a word or phrase that reads oddly in a religious context, or occasionally something that does not follow the App's instructions. Read what you are given with that in mind, and if something seems wrong to you, tell us at hello@commalabs.co so the wording can be corrected.
Nobody stands between you and Allah in the App. It never addresses an intermediary, never has anyone intercede, and does not assign you a guide or companion.
3. Not Medical, Legal or Psychological Advice
The App gives no medical, legal, financial or psychological advice, and nothing it composes is a substitute for professional help. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a medical device.
If what you write suggests you may be in danger or thinking of harming yourself, the App shows a way to reach help before it shows anything else. Please use it. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your country. The App is not a crisis service. It cannot contact anyone on your behalf, cannot detect every situation, and must not be relied on as a safety measure.
The App will not compose a prayer asking for harm to come to another person, however the request is phrased.
4. Age
You must be old enough to hold an Apple Account in your country and to agree to these terms. If you are a minor where you live, use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf. The App is not directed to children.
5. What You Write
What you type is sent once so that a prayer can be written from it, and is not stored by us. This is described in detail in the Privacy Policy, and using the App means you accept that it works this way. If you prefer that nothing leave your device, the App composes offline instead.
Do not enter anything you are not willing to have processed for that purpose, and do not enter another person's personal information. What you write remains yours; we claim no ownership of it and we have no copy of it.
Do not use the App to attempt to produce content that is unlawful, hateful, sexual, or aimed at harming anyone, and do not attempt to make it act as a general-purpose assistant or bypass its instructions. The App is built to refuse, and misuse may end your licence to use it.
6. Requirements, Connectivity and Availability
The App requires iOS 18 or later.
An internet connection is used to compose a prayer. Without one, the App composes from a writer built into the App itself and keeps working; it will not show an error, but the result is in English and is not the same text a connection would have produced.
Composing depends on services we do not control, and there may be interruptions, delays or maintenance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the App, and if we discontinue it entirely we will say so in advance in the App and will not charge for a period that will not be served; your notebook remains on your device regardless, because it was never anywhere else.
7. Free and Full Access
The free version composes a limited number of prayers each week. Your notebook, past prayers, reminders, language choice and writing your own prayers are all included at no cost, and a prayer you wrote yourself does not count against the weekly limit.
Full Access removes the weekly limit. Features included may change over time, and we will give notice inside the App of any change that removes something you are paying for.
8. Subscriptions and Payments
All purchases are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not process payments and never see your payment details.
- Monthly and Yearly are auto-renewing subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours beforehand, and are charged to your Apple Account.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region and over time. Existing subscribers are notified by Apple before any price increase takes effect.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy. We cannot issue refunds directly; requests must be made to Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Entitlements are attached to your Apple Account, not to an account with us, and can be restored on another device by signing in with the same Apple Account and using "Restore" in the App.
Consumers in the EU, the UK and Türkiye may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance purchase. Because the App delivers digital content immediately, that right may be lost once delivery begins with your consent, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms removes a right you have that cannot be waived, and refunds under Apple's policy remain available regardless.
9. Signing In Is Optional
Sign in with Apple is offered and nothing is withheld if you decline. Your notebook is on your device either way, so signing in neither uploads it nor moves it. If you sign in, we receive only the identifier Apple issues, and signing out deletes it.
10. Licence and Acceptable Use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which these terms supplement.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, rent, resell or sublicense the App, nor use it or the service behind it as a general-purpose text generator, nor extract, scrape, overload or automate access to that service, nor circumvent any limit in it.
11. Intellectual Property
The App, its name, wordmark, interface, copy, icons and design are owned by Comma Labs and protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.
The prayers composed for you are yours to keep, read, print and share as you wish. What you write is yours and stays yours.
If you send us a suggestion, a correction or a report about the wording, you allow us to use it to improve the App without obligation or payment. We will not publish anything you send without asking you first.
12. Third-Party Services and Links
The App relies on Apple for distribution and payment, and on the processors named in the Privacy Policy for composing prayers. It contains a small number of links to sites we do not operate. We are not responsible for those services or sites, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
13. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that a composed prayer will be theologically correct for your school of thought, suitable for your situation, or free of error, and you should read it as you would read anything written by software.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Comma Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing here limits your statutory consumer rights.
14. Force Majeure
We are not liable for a failure or delay caused by something outside our reasonable control, including network or infrastructure failure, the unavailability of a third-party service, an act of a public authority, or a natural disaster.
15. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate the licence if these terms are breached. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as required by Apple's policy or applicable law, and does not affect your notebook, which is on your device.
16. Apple's Role
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Ankara have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence.
Consumers in Türkiye may also apply to the District or Provincial Consumer Arbitration Committee (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) or the Consumer Court in their own locality, within the monetary limits published each year by the Ministry of Trade. Consumers elsewhere in the EU may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
Before any of that, please write to hello@commalabs.co. Most things are quicker to fix than to argue about.
18. General
- If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues in force and the provision is applied as far as the law allows.
- Not enforcing a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.
- You may not assign these terms. We may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, on the same conditions.
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Comma Labs about the App, and replace anything said before.
- These terms are written in English. A translation is provided for convenience only; in case of conflict the English text governs, except where local law says otherwise.
19. Changes
If these terms change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the revised terms. A material change would also be shown inside the App.
